A comprehensive list of our vaccination services

Influenza

The Influenza vaccine is crucial for protecting against the flu, a highly contagious respiratory illness. It’s recommended annually to guard against the most current flu virus strains. This vaccine is especially important for the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic health conditions, reducing the risk of severe flu complications.

Pneumococcal Conjugate

The Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) helps prevent pneumococcal diseases caused by the Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, which can lead to severe infections like pneumonia, meningitis, and bloodstream infections. It’s recommended for all adults over 65 and for younger adults at increased risk.

Hepatitis A / Hepatitis B / Twinrix

The Hepatitis A and B vaccines protect against these liver infections. Hepatitis A is typically spread through contaminated food or water, while Hepatitis B can be transmitted through infected bodily fluids. Twinrix is a combination vaccine that offers protection against both. Vaccination is recommended for travelers, healthcare workers, and those with increased risk of exposure.

Women’s Health / Cervical Cancer Vaccines – HPV Vaccination

The HPV vaccination (Gardasil 9), protects against the human papillomavirus, which can lead to cervical cancer, other genital cancers, and genital warts. It’s recommended for both men and women, ideally before they become sexually active, to maximize the vaccine’s protective benefits.

Shingrix

Shingrix is the vaccine recommended for the prevention of shingles, a painful rash caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which also causes chickenpox. It’s recommended for adults aged 50 and older, including those who’ve previously had shingles or received the Zostavax vaccine, to reduce the risk of developing shingles and its complications.

Yellow Fever

The Yellow Fever vaccine is crucial for protecting against yellow fever, a potentially fatal viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes in certain parts of Africa and South America. The disease can range from mild to severe, causing symptoms such as fever, chills, severe headache, back pain, general body aches, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, and weakness. For those traveling to or living in areas where yellow fever is found, vaccination is not only recommended but may be required for entry by certain countries.

Cholera

The Cholera vaccine protects against cholera, a potentially deadly water-borne disease characterized by severe diarrhea and dehydration. It’s particularly recommended for travelers to areas with high rates of cholera, helping to prevent infection.

Japanese Encephalitis Prophylaxis (Malaria)

The Japanese Encephalitis vaccine protects against this mosquito-borne virus prevalent in rural areas of Asia and the Western Pacific. Recommended for long-term travelers and those living in endemic regions, it guards against a disease that can lead to severe brain inflammation.

Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) Measles

The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella – three highly contagious diseases that can have serious complications. The vaccine is recommended for all adults who have not been vaccinated or have no immunity to these diseases, ensuring protection for themselves and vulnerable populations.

Rabies

The Rabies vaccine is recommended for individuals at high risk of exposure to rabid animals or those traveling to areas where rabies is prevalent. This includes veterinarians, animal handlers, and travelers engaging in outdoor activities in high-risk areas, providing protection against this deadly virus.

(Tdap) Tetanus

The Tdap vaccine protects against three serious diseases: tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). Tetanus causes painful muscle stiffness, diphtheria can lead to breathing problems, and pertussis causes severe coughing. It’s recommended for adults as a one-time dose, with a Td (tetanus and diphtheria) booster every 10 years.

Thyphoid

The Typhoid vaccine protects against typhoid fever, a serious disease spread through contaminated food and water. Recommended for travelers to countries where typhoid is common, it helps prevent a condition that can cause high fever, fatigue, and stomach pains.

Varicella (VAR) for Chickenpox

The Varicella vaccine protects against chickenpox, a highly contagious disease that can be severe in adults. It’s recommended for anyone who hasn’t had chickenpox or received the vaccination, providing immunity and reducing the risk of complications.
