Pre-Employment Check-up for Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW)

Prior to the issuance of her work permit, you will need to send your FDW for a medical examination by a Singapore-registered doctor within 2 weeks of her arrival in Singapore. The medical examination screens the worker for 4 types of infectious disease (tuberculosis, HIV, syphilis and malaria) and if she is fit to work.

If you have specific concerns about her health, you may request for more tests to be done. Her work permit will only be issued if she passes the medical examination. Otherwise, she will be sent home.

Six-monthly medical examination for Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW)

To ensure that your FDW is fit for work, she must undergo a six-monthly medical examination to fulfil local government requirements by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). This six-monthly medical examination screens for pregnancy and infectious diseases such as syphilis, HIV and tuberculosis.

It is required for these test results to be certified by a Singapore-registered doctor.
